In the Light

I have been on a journey of rediscovery lately. I have been learning and growing in so many incredible ways, it is hard to put into words the wave of feelings and emotions that have brought clarity to my life, but they are so powerful, and real.

I have started a few posts for this blog recently, but thought I would take a moment to share a quick poem I finished last night. I started the first stanza a few months ago, yet not surprisingly, that thought came to fruition at this point in my life; the point where I have an abundance of peace and love inside.

I have a very solid sense of the foundation of who I am as a daughter of God. I am grateful for that, each and every day. I still struggle to maintain the feelings of self-worth that I know He wants me to understand and embrace; but I am learning every day how to love myself the way He loves me. I am striving to align my will with His.

Through the blessings of the Atonement, I have found peace. Even with the stress and chaos of daily life, the peace is there. Beneath the raging tempest, the sea is tranquil. In the light of His love, I strive daily to walk....

The Light Between the Shadows

Walking in the light
that gives the gift of sight;
the light between the shadows.

Shade's darkness can't consume
the light that leads me through;
that light between the shadows.

The light is my Lord,
on His path, I trod.
Never left to wander,
while His love leads me on.

The night cannot destroy.
The void cannot employ;
the purity between the shadows.

I move with faith,
and feel the embrace
of the light between life's shadows.

I testify of the power of the Atonement, and how it can help us through the darkness of this mortal probation, if we choose to allow it. His love carries me daily, and I am eternally grateful for that blessing. These things I share in His name, Jesus Christ, Amen.
